#BrowsOnFleek | 3D Eyebrow Embroidery at Strokes by Momoi Supe
Just a little over a month ago, I would be the last person to tell you to get a Eyebrow Microblading. I just didn't want to join the bandwagon because most of those that I've seen looked straight out of a Rocky Horror Show. #QueHorror
I've had several invitations to try out their Brow Tattoo services. Unlike other skin services which I would normally be excited about, brow embroidery or brow tattoo had me running in the opposite direction. I would do research and I really wasn't that happy with their work. Either I find it not my style or that I feel they're not skilled enough. C'mon, you can't blame me! We are talking about our eyebrows here. One mishap and I'd totally be so bummed. Besides, I have a few friends who weren't really happy with their brow tattoos so I didn't want to end up with the same fate.
But I did! I did try it!
On Instagram, I saw Momoi worked on many to the top celebrities. He's famous for doing the brows of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and Miss World Kylie Verzosa to name a few. Christened the best celebrity Brow Artist, I read a few reviews online from fellow beauty bloggers and his ratings are pretty fantastic along with the rest of his team. But that's not why I said yes.
I remember seeing Momoi in one of my friend's photo and learned that he did her brows! I messaged her and asked how good he is and she vouched for him. Finally, that spark of interest grew and in a few days of tip-toeing back and forth on my facebook messenger, I agreed to have it done.
Strokes by Momoi Supe is located at Greenbelt 1 (beside Piandre Salon, across Blade.). I was scheduled to come in at 10 in the morning but I got there at 11. Already there were a few clients getting their brows and lips done by his team. Very busy but orderly clinic, fi you ask me.
They asked if I wouldn't mind getting my lashes done first. I didn't really have anything to do that day as I reserved it solely for this purpose so I said yes. Ruth then proceeded to introduce me to her expertise, Yumi Lashes.
YUMI Lashes is an advanced technique in Eyelash Enhancement Procedure wherein we lift and tint your natural lashes from the base, making it look longer and fuller. The technique uses organic treatments that are made in France. The lash-boosting treatment was created by Swiss derma-pigmentologist Sandra Viglino. This is the perfect alternative to lash extensions, enhancing the eyes in the most powerful, natural way.
Yumi Lashes is similar lash perming except that the treatment didn't have the strong scent of a perming solution and tint definitely set it apart. I was floored when I saw the results! The procedure take an hour and half so allow yourself this time to relax and even sleep since you won't be allowed to open your eyes.
The whole procedure is painless albeit a little unnerving coz the aesthetician is working so close to your eyes. But overcome this and you'll wake up to beautiful longer looking lashes. I've seen some works that even those who feel their lashes are too short ended up looking longer after this treatment.
And now on to the 3D Eyebrow Embroidery!
I filmed the whole 3D Eyebrow Embroidery process for you to see and to take you around STROKES by Momoi Supe at Greenbelt 1.
The whole procedure went by without a glitch. It was faster than I expected. It showed how much Momoi knew his craftsmanship. He wasn't also intimidating. I initially thought he would be. Hehehe.. He was actually accommodating and very friendly as we walked me through the whole process. I could hear the strokes he was making and I could see it through my camera's screen and I was impressed with his precision.
I truly felt confident as he did my brows and enjoyed the whole process. But he and his team were nice enough to ask how I was doing from time to time. The process took only about 20 minutes. I couldn't believe how the tattoo looked!
Important FAQ's:
1. Is it process painful and bloody?
It wasn't painful at all. The numbing cream (anaesthetic) used was enough for me not to feel the pain. There's little pain (more like a pressure) as the numbing gel wears off but nothing I couldn't take. Even if you have a low pain threshold, you can take it. And it only lasted an hour or two. Maybe less.
I have three tattoo so I know blood is party of the process. After all, strokes made are meant to penetrate the skin that will allow the dye to stay underneath. The blood shown was only during the procedure. After that, I didn't see any trace of blood. Even during the healing process.
There's this advice from my tattoo artist (which my derma concurred) that you shouldn't get a tattoo done during your period so I also came in for the 3D Tattoo Brow Embroidery 2 weeks before I got my flow.
2. How's the healing process?
I followed the after-care process down to a T so mine healed really well. Very minor scabbing, no redness. And all I did was apply the healing cream they gave me every two hours for on week. I loved the result so much that I didn't do anything with my brows and follow all their After Care Procedure.
3. What's the after-care procedure?
- Dry-healing for 48 hours
- Two hours after the procedure, apply the after care gel. Apply it 4-6 times daily for one week.
- If skin gets sensitive or swollen, apply an anti-bacterial ointment for 7 days (day and night). Consult a dermatologist if symptom persists.
- Take a pain reliever if pain occurs.
- Do not wet/wash the eyebrows for 48 hours, just wipe with dry tissue and re-apply cream.
- No swimming for 7 days
- No sweating at the gym for the next 3 days from procedure.
- No makeup on the brow area for at least 3 days. (I didn't use eyebrow product for good two weeks cause my brows looked really great!)
- DO NOT PICK ON THE SCABS!!
- DO NOT SCRATCH or PULL AWAY SCABS.
- Leave your brows alone for 7 days if possible
- No whitening and peeling treatments on the brow area as much as possible.
4. How did your brows look like the next 7 days.
I didn't particularly track my daily progress but my brows looked bangin' day 1 to day 7 til to this very day! You can check out my Instagram or Facebook for some FOTD's. But here are photos of the progress. :)

It would always be best to consul a dermatologist or have your skin thoroughly checked by Strokes before undergoing this procedure.

ReplyDeleteonly or YUMi plus nourishing mascara? How long did it stay?
Did your lashes fall off after 2 months?
