A Valentine's Day Inspired Makeup Look | Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss



I've got the perfect shade of pink right here and just in time for Valentine's Day!
In love, looking or happily single, there's no reason not to rock pink lips this coming Heart's Day. Come to think of it, everyday is a good day for pretty pinky pout.



My latest pick is the new Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss. A limited edition lippie from the much-raved Pinay-brand. But what makes this extra special is that Kris Aquino, Queen of Talk, collaborated with Happy Skin founders Rissa Mananquil-Trillo and Jacqe Yuengitan-Gutierrez to create the perfect pink lip color just in time to celebrate her upcoming birthday this Valentine's Day! 



I remember meeting Kris Aquino when she debuted as one of Regal Film's newest actress. She really had a close affinity to hearts being born on February 14. She gave me a digital alarm clock in a shape of a heart during one of Mother Lily's prayer meetings at the Regal office in Valencia Hills. She's sweet, sincere and extremely generous.

That generosity continues to flow through profit of this lippie because portion of the profits of Valentine Kiss Lippies will be donated to the Our Lady of Manaoag Church in Pangasinan for its maintenance. And what better way to help beautify the house of the Lord by through a beauty product, right?

And for this, Kris chose to create her very own Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie. After Happy Skin guested at her hit morning show, she was inspired to collaborate with the homegrown brand to create the perfect universal pink lippie. "One thing I learned is that pag meron ka nang lipstick that works for you, and naging signature mo na yun, stick to it. So that pink has really been me,” Kris declares. She wanted it matte, opaque but very moisturizing. Flaky lips after is not kissable, she added.

And so Valentine Kiss was born!


Valentine Kiss is an opaque univeral pink lip color with a bit of purple undertone (quite in this season, too). It's a wearable everyday pink lip shade that would suit most Filipina shade. It's extrmely flattering and most definitely femme.


What I love about Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss:

The color! It's a toned down pink lippie that's easy to pair with any outfit or makeup look.
It reminds me of MAC Pink Nouveau and Bobbi Brown Bikini Pink.
Matte finish of the lippie. Matte is always a good choice for an everyday lip product.
Easy to apply with the crayon-type applicator. No need for a lip liner or lip brush.
Moisturizes my lips well (thanks to Shea Butter and Collagen ingredients)
Glides on nicely against my lips without the tug and pull with it's lip balm texture
Opacity is through the roof! Love a lip color that you don't have work with to show the color.

What I don't like Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss:

Nothing. It's a great buy and you get to help a worthy cause when you purchase it!

Oh! But it's a limited edition shade. That may pose some problems to some who wants to get their hands on it. As for me, I plan to hoard on about 2 more of this shade just to be sure I won't run out. :)




Here's a simple Valentine look I did, inspired by Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss. The idea is to still look like yourself, natural and very feminine, but with a bit of a surprise when your lovey-dovey sees you.

If you want him to focus on your lips, this shade will do the trick!
1. Use a natural-looking foundation that would help even out your skin tone. Look for one loaded with skin-loving ingredients.

2. Set it with powder if you're on the oilier side.
3. Mimic your natural flush with a blush powder.

4. Define your eyes with a long-lasting eyeliner
(I used here Happy Skin Eye Am Here To Stay Liquid Liner)
5. Top it off with a flattering pink lip color.
