Q&A: What 's the best eye cream and sunblock for the face and body? | ASK & WIN A PRIZE!
I received this inquiry mail from Crisel 2 days ago.. :)
The Question:
My Answer:"Hello Ms. Shen! May i ask what are the best eye cream and sunblock for face and the body? .... I have combination skin. I want a cream or sunblock that doesn't make me feel oily. Thanks help me. :D"
Hi Crisel and to anyone who has the same question she does,
First, on the eye cream recommendation:
For eye cream, there are several that I consider that works pretty well for me. I'll name two, a save and splurge products so you choose depending on your budget. I know you're worried about oiliness even in that area and I take that into consideration on choosing that to recommend you.
Save:
The Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-on is a great eye skincare. For Php299, you really have a decent way of depuffing the baggies and lightening the dark undereyes, thanks to the cooling metal ball and caffeine ingredients. That's the yellow one in the photo if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

The Light BB Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-on is the one on the left, it helps lighten undereyes but what's great is that it acts as concealer, too. Not a tough concealer but quite a decent one. I did a review of this one here.
I used Brightening Eye Roll-on for months and saw improvement on my undereye area. From time to time I still use it when I'm just lounging in bed before time while catching on some of my favorite shows.
Splurge:
If you're on for a splurge, try Eyeliplex-2 from Goodskin Labs. I've never seen an eye cream work so fast as this one. But when I say splurge, it's about Php2200+.
It comes with a day and night eye-cream. The green gel is for daytime for eye care and protection; and the cream one is for night time which is more potent. You are getting what you paid for with this product for sure.
There are more undereye care products out there but these two are the ones that I use the most. I use my mini Hydrating Eye Cream from Bobbi Brown for travelling as I find it's more potent when there's a change in environ or when in an extremely cold hotel room. Also, it's great for late night outs when I only have two hour sleep.
Now on to the Sunblock for the face:
Since you mentioned that you have combination and have trouble with your current sunblock isn't fit for your oily face, I suggest you try something I've been using for quite awhile now. It's the Belo Prescriptives Sunblock Gel that I got from the Belo Medical Clinic for Php369.60. It lasts for a month or so, depending on usage but this doesn't trigger oiliness as fast as other sunblocks for me.
I know exactly what you mean about oiling up just an hour or two after application. I seriously think that there's hardly a cure to our oily T-zones so a blotting paper and this sunblock gel.
I think you can also purchase sunblock gel from your own dermatologist if you have one. I notice that whenever I would purchase sunblocks from actual dermatologists, it always comes in clear gel form.
And then Sunblock for the body:
I recommend this lotion because I've been using this for years and it has proven to protect my skin from getting tanned during those short commutes to and fro school back in college and now when I'm driving through the worst traffic of Manila now that I'm working.
This is a great everyday lotion. I even use this at night because I love the berry scent! It's easily absorbed to the skin so no worries for the icky feel. This has an almost holy grail stamped on it.
But if you need something with a stronger protection, then go for something like Belo Essentials Sun Expert with SPF 60. It's made for the body and for intense sun exposure.

Hello Ms. Shen! I have oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. Because of this, I'm finding it hard to look for a liquid foundation that would stay on my face the whole day, that would look natural, and most especially, won't clog pores and irritate my sensitive skin. I'm thinking of Revlon Colorstay but I'm allergic to cleansing oils, so how would I be able to remove it properly at the end of the day? I only use soap from my derma. :( I don't know what to do. Hope you could help me. Thank you so much in advance!
