I was suppose to go for Rebel but when Jigs (yes, the famous Makeup Artist and TV host, Jigs Mayuga. I'd like to think we're in first name basis already. #hehehe) recommended that we get one while it's still available at MAC Cebu, like a young Jedi, I just followed the Master.

It's a matte coral red that can do either way. Brightest red evver! I love it! 

I noticed that I have way too much MAC red lipsticks.... but i ain't complainin'. All of these babies are gorge!

1. A flawless face works best with red lips. So make sure that your blemishes are properly concealed and your undereyes brightened.

2. Define the brows but don't overdo it.

3. Apply a blush with the same undertone as your red lips.

4. The face tends to look flat or washout against red lipsticks. Applying a bit of bronzer or contour adds dimension to your face.

5. Use a lipliner and a lipbrush! Eyeliner to define the lips and make it last longer. The lip brush for precise application.

6. Do the "Swipe. Blot. Swipe. Blot. Swipe." trick for a more lasting red lipstick.

7. If you're the type to get lipstick on their teeth, stick your index figure in your mouth and pucker up. Pull it out to remove excess from your lips.

8. If it still stains, apply a bit of vaseline on the front of your teeth. This is one of the oldest trick but woks like a charm.

But if you're still hesitant to use a red lipstick, start with a lip gloss! I like the one from NYX Megashine in Perfect Red and MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert!

Haliee Steinfeld of True Grit shows the best example on how to pull of a red lipstick. Clean, classic flawless and a just a little bit flushed.

When done right, wearing red lipstick exudes elegance and class... sometimes, attitude and some spunk. So what are we waiting for?
