The Makeup Look: Nude From The Catwalk
I've always loved bold eyes, nude lips makeup looks. Especially on the runway because it doesn't distract me from appreciating the fashion. Also with these types of looks, all the ensembles (let's admit that can be a bit over the top most of times) gives me that impression that I can rock them if I tone down on the makeup front. That made sense for me. Also, I'm loving my Nude Phase. Although my makeup looks are as bright as newborn day... my outfits come in the same family, which is tan, nude, beige, brown and white. This time though I'm bringing it in to creations of a new makeup look.
And what better way to fuel that inspiration but with Marj Sia's Catwalk Palette which she based on a makeup artist's needs to create various makeup looks. One of which is creating no makeup look midst the colorful more flamboyant ones.
And since I want to prove that this palette can provide a fabulous neautral makeup look... here's what I did. Using only the eyeshadow Gold, Brown and Black. :)
For the Face:
Shu Uemura Face Architect Mousse Foundation
Clinique SuperBalanced Powder Makeup
NARS Orgasm Blush
The Body Shop Matte Bronzer
For the Lips:
MAC Peachstock (the best nude lisptick ever for my medium skintone!)For the Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Catwalk Cosmetics Palette
Tony Moly Gel Liner
Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara
Tony Moly Retractable Eyebrow Pencil
I am very much in love with this makeup look. Although I get some stares from people with the nude-ness of my lips, I love the feel of this sort of makeup. For me, it's very well polished and poised. Much like those in the runway.
I spent the better part of the evening of my Saturday at the Clinique Real Women Party. Pinky (Okasaneko) was picked by Clinique to be my date and we had so much fun doing makeovers with makeup artists, Clinique women, fellow beauty and fashion bloggers (Nikki, Sophie, Liz, Lauren, Lloyda) and their guests. The new Essenses at Rockwell Powerplant Mall is such an amazing place for the beauty addicts! And the Clinique is the first counter on the left. So easy to spot!
Although most of us wished that those who joined got the chance to be with us all. We are hoping for a repeat. So that's keeping our fingers crossed! Srsly, I'm crossing my fingers.
Happy Long Weekend everyone, be good! :) Don't do anything I wouldn't do (which isn't much anyway. #lol.)!
