FOTD: A La Mode Palette of The Body Shop Brush With Fashion Collection
Another FOTD and a bit of review! :) Can you believe I wore smokey silver and black for mass? I did! The church we go to is quite strict and I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to go inside the church with a silvery smokey look. Thankfully nobody stopped me. I was just really excited to use my The Body Shop Brush with Fashion A La Mode Limited Collection For Eyes Palette. It's a smokey palette with a ballerina pink on it and it's the best party eye shadow palette.
All the colors are significantly pigmented and it wasn't too hard to blend the silver with the black. Blending is the key to a good smokey eye makeup. And even with me wearing makeup everyday in different colors, I still find it hard to blend eye shadows especially with smokey eye looks. That's why eye shadows like these are such a great thing to use as it requires only minimum amount of effort to blend.
1. Apply Futuristic Silver (silver eyeshadow) on the inner lid.
2. Apply Little Black Dress (black eyeshadow) on the edge of your crease and blend it to the outer V to the crease of the eyes.
3. Use the Minimalist White (satin white eyeshadow) to blend out the harsh line.
I opted to leave out using the pink eyeshadow and decided not to apply the highlighter. I just wanted to make my eyes appear bigger than it already is. :)
I applied minimal amount of Max Factor Weightless foundation, concentrating only on the parts I want to highlight and cover like what Bobby Carlos did with Megan Young.
I set the foundation with Beauty and Minerals Concealer Foundation for a matte effect (since I'm super oily these days with the changing weather). And guess what? I seem to have lightened quite a bit so I needed to use a lighter foundation. Caroline shade of Beauty and Minerals seem to do the job because after a an hour or so, the powder evened out with my acidic skin.
No concealer for the dark spots of my left cheek. I just used Revlon Spa Concealer to cover my baggies. :)
For the lips, I used the Lip Ice Sheer Color in Strawberry. It's nice contract to the slight smoky look that I did. And I do love the pink hue it gives my lips. So flattering, really. :)
For the love of me, I can't remember what Blush I used but it's probably Ellana Kitten Mineral Blush.
For mascara I use Smashbox Lash DNA which is probably the biggest mascara wand in my collection. While of course, for liner I used Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner in black.
There you have it. Another FOTD for monday. :) Hope you all have a great week ahead! :)
