Product Review: Revlon Photo Ready Compact Makeup
Cream Foundations are probably the best formula for especially when attending a very important event and I needed my face to be at its best behavior. Meaning, no blemishes and flawlessly made up. But cream foundations can be a bit too much for the younger skin and often not recommended.
Not anymore. When I was sent the Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup, I got giddy at the prospect of using another cream base foundation. But this one is a quite different... Find out why below. :)
Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup provides an airbrush finish with it's innovative cream to liquid to powder finish foundation that blends perfectly on the skin and provides an even finish, covering blemishes and diminishing pores with a few strokes.
Notice the fishnet covering the foundation? That's a Liquefying Screen that turns the cream foundation to liquid when pressed gently with the makeup sponge that came with the compact.
If you want a clean matte finish that is easy to do and you could do it for half the time, then this is the foundation for you. You just have to find the right shade among the six shades available because the shades are quite different from the rest of the Photo Ready Collection.
I'm very much impressed with how easy it was to blend this foundation onto my face albeit the shade was a tad darker than when I first swatched it. It covered my blemishes well and I didn't even need to use any concealer on my pimple marks. True to its words, it dries to a powder finish that if this is my exact shade, I didn't need to use a face powder. I could just jump to using the Translucent Powder for finishing.
Above is a photo of the Revlon Photo Ready Compact Makeup freshly applied. Obviously Medium Beige is a shade or two darker than my skin tone. Good thing that I could easily fix it with a foundation powder. The Compact Makeup instantly reduced my blemishes but not my beauty marks. It certainly has that airbrush feel and even if I look tanned, my pic already looks ready for photos.

What I love...
- How easy it was to use with its compact container
- Great for traveling.
- With little amount of product, I was able to cover my blemishes, dark spots, broken capillaries and wrinkles
- Lightweight feel of the foundation compared to other cream foundations
- Provides an airbrush finish
- My photos look amazing on photos..:)
- Available in six shades.. :)
What I don't...
- Not all too hygenic with double dipping ( i use a new sponge whenever I use the Revlon Photo Ready Compact Makeup)
Overall:
I really like this makeup and would even get a the right shade the next time I go to the mall. I like how easy it was to use and for someone who often don't have time in the morning to prep, this is really heaven sent. This might actually be my most favorite item among all the Revlon Photo Ready that I got to try.

This is interesting. :)I love their liquid foundie. Will give this a try too!
ReplyDeleteI have been eye-ing this at the mall, but I'm still scared since I'm new to makeup. I don't know if I'll be able to apply this correctly haha.
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Shen! thanks for this review, it's really helpful! ive been thinking of buying this one but im wondering if you can recommend this for everyday use? if not, what would be a great everyday foundie that is light but covers well? thank you!
ReplyDeletei love bobbi brown skin foundation for medium coverage. i don't think most light foundation covers well unless you already have clear blemish-free skin with no oil to boot. try using a tinted moisturizer from laura mercier. I use medium coverage. but bobbi brown have proven me to be a nice foundation that covers well, lightweight, doesn't break me out and something i can use almost everyday.
ReplyDeletebut i don't recommend using liquid foundation everyday as it will take a toll on your skin. give your skin time to breathe, too. :)
I would love to hear from you!
