Vanity Moment: Smoked Out with Urban Decay Book of Shadow II and MAC Pink Nouveau
I'm hella crazy over Pink Nouveau. i wish I have reasons to use it everyday. But alas! My country is yet to get use to such flamboyant display of cosmetics in one single face. Although I notice that many girls have been scourging over beauty counters now more than ever, lipsticks like this are still very much taboo to Philippine Polite Society.
But even in so not polite society (where ever that is), this lipstick is definitely the makatawag pansin (attention calling) lipstick. Yes, if you wear this lip color... attention is exactly what you'll get. But I'm glad that I have a lot of friends who gets me whenever I wear this color. So what if others can't, right?
And really, how can I stop wearing such a pretty pink color?

And who says smokey eyes aren't for daytime? Well, it really isn't. Looking a bit raccoon-ish during the day will only gain you the attention you don't want.. During the time I wore this though, it was about 5 o'clock in the afternoon so I thought I could get away with it.. I hope I did.
Most of the time, I've been using my Urban Decay Book of Shadows. I have too much of it that I just can't seem to finish any of them. I love the shimmers and the satin textures of the eye shadows. Although that doesn't mean I don't like my other eye shadow palettes. :)
I just love this look. What I useto only see in magazines, now I get to put on me!

I could hardly remember the days when I was afraid of black eyeliner, of blue eyeshadow and red lipstick. It is truly liberating to know that I was able to conquer my cosmetics paranoia one by one, with every sweep of eye shadows and swipe of lipstick.
What about you? What fear have you conquered lately?
much love,
Shen

ReplyDeleteI used to be really iffy with wearing dark lips like a dark berry color or red but I've learned not to care anymore and I wear dark lip colors whenever I want to :)
I really love wearing bright makeup. I have so much fun putting it on and being creative!
ReplyDeletePero here's the thing that's really been bugging me lately. I'm going the the Philippines in December, and I haven't been since I was 15, in 2005. Nagaalala ako na I will get negative reactions from people.
I'm not trying to plug my blog here, but if you look at it, you'll see the kind of makeup I wear everyday.
I don't know how people back home see this kind of makeup wearing. Is it too much for the Philippines?
Tanong lang. :)
